Department of Radiology & Medical Imaging

Overview

The Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging focuses on using medical imaging techniques to diagnose and treat diseases. This department employs various technologies, including X-rays, Ultrasound, and CT scans, to visualize the body's internal structures and identify abnormalities.

Scope of Medical Care

At Neem Hospital we are equipped with the latest digital imaging systems available in the presence of highly skilled fellowship-trained and board-certified Radiologists. The department provides advanced diagnostic and interventional procedures, within a comfortable set up, experienced staff, and 24/7 service.

Ultrasound Scan

An ultrasound scan (ultrasonography or sonography), is a medical imaging technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of the inside of the body.

It's a non-invasive procedure that helps doctors visualize internal organs, tissues, and blood vessels.

Ultrasound is commonly used during pregnancy to monitor fetal development and is also used to diagnose a variety of medical conditions.

X-ray

An X-ray is a medical imaging technique that uses electromagnetic radiation to create images of the inside of the body, particularly bones and other dense structures. It's a quick and painless procedure, often used to diagnose fractures, locate foreign objects, and assess the condition of internal organs.

DEXA Scan

A DEXA (dual X-ray absorptiometry) scan is a medical imaging test that measures bone density, typically in the hip and spine.

It uses low-dose X-rays to determine how strong and dense your bones are, helping diagnose or assess your risk of osteoporosis and other bone-related health problems

CT Scan

A CT scan (computed tomography scan or CAT scan), is a medical imaging procedure that uses X-rays and computer technology to create detailed cross-sectional images of the body.

These scans are used to diagnose and monitor various conditions, including injuries, tumors, and infections, and can be performed on different parts of the body, such as the brain, chest, abdomen, and pelvis.

Interventional Radiology

Interventional radiology is a medical subspecialty that uses minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat a wide range of diseases. Instead of traditional open surgery, IR utilizes imaging techniques like X-rays, CT scans, MRI, and ultrasound to guide specialized instruments through the body to reach the targeted area. This approach results in less pain, smaller incisions, shorter hospital stays, and quicker recovery times compared to traditional surgery.

Health Education

“Radiology & Medical Imaging begin with awareness”

Which imaging technique is the right one?
What are the risks of X-ray exposure?
What are the risks of ultrasound?

………..

…….and to know what is typical for you
Being familiar with how you usually look like and feel makes it easier to detect when there's a change
